Letters of Commendations from Fire Chief Friedel were presented to Captain Michael O'Brien, Driver Adam Brown, Firefighter David Owen, Firefighter Sean Garner for their actions on March 19th, 2009.

On March 19th, 2009 at approximately 11:27 a.m. Jenks Police, Fire and EMSA were dispatched to a medical emergency in the parking lot of the Jenks Aquarium.  The responders found a bystander performing CPR on the unresponsive patient lying in the parking lot.  Jenks Police were on scene first followed by Engine 1,  EMSA and Engine 2.  All who responded exhibited excellent decision-making and skill performance.  All of the emergency from the police officers to the transporting agency played a vital role in patient care.  Therefore, all share in the responsibility of the full recovery of the patient.  An atmosphere of teamwork and professionalism ruled the day and our citizens are the better for it, especially the patient and their family.  Although you may never fully understand the impact and extent to which other lives were touched that day, you should know that it is recognized and appreciated.
